CMR Essentials course conditions
Access and use rules for the INCIC CMR Essentials course, for students and reviewers.
Who offers it
The CMR Essentials course belongs to the Chilean Institute of Cardiovascular Imaging (INCIC), Santiago, Chile. For any question, write to us from the contact page.
Trial version
The course is in trial (beta) mode. Its content, order and features may change without notice, and it may contain errors we are correcting.
It runs at curso.incic.org, part of the INCIC website; the old addresses under incic.org/curso-rmc take you there.
Access
Lesson 1 is free. The others need personal access issued by INCIC: a code with its access link, or access granted directly to your account.
With a student account, which you create with your email, your progress is saved on the server and you can take the final exam. If you use a code while signed in, the code is linked to your account.
The account, the code and its link are personal and non-transferable: do not share them. INCIC may deactivate an account or a code that is shared or misused.
Final exam
The final exam is taken with your account, once INCIC opens it and after you complete every published lesson. A lesson counts as complete when you reach its end having answered all its quick questions. It has 20 multiple-choice questions drawn at random from a bank reviewed by INCIC, and you have 45 minutes to answer them.
The pass mark is 70% correct answers. You have 3 attempts and we aim to give each one different questions. Your answers are saved as you go; if time runs out, the attempt is submitted with what you have answered. At the end you see your score and the topics to review, but not the correct answers.
If you use all 3 attempts without passing, write to us from the contact page: INCIC can give you another attempt.
The exam is individual: you must answer it yourself, with your own account, and nobody else may take it for you.
Certificate
If you pass, INCIC issues a certificate with your name, score, date and a code. Anyone can verify it on incic.org with that code.
The certificate shows that you passed the final exam of the INCIC CMR Essentials course. It does not state teaching hours and it is not a competency certification (for example, from the SCMR) or a degree.
INCIC may revoke a certificate if it finds that someone else took the exam, that the account was shared or that there was other fraud. A revoked certificate is shown as revoked when verified.
Educational use
The course is cardiac magnetic resonance training material for radiographers, technologists and physicians. It does not replace clinical judgement, current guidelines or each centre’s protocols, and it is not a competency certification (for example, from the SCMR) or a degree.
Intellectual property
The course texts, figures, diagrams, videos, questions and design belong to INCIC or are used with their authors’ permission. You may view them for your own training.
Downloading, copying, recording or redistributing them without INCIC’s written permission is not allowed. Publications cited as sources belong to their authors.
Patient images
Case images and videos are anonymised. If you find anything that could identify a patient, let us know from the contact page and we will remove it.
Reviewer commitment
Reviewers are colleagues invited by INCIC to review the course. When they first sign in they accept this commitment:
They will see lessons, questions, figures and videos that are not published yet. That content is confidential: they do not share it, take screenshots for others or use it outside the review.
If they see anything that could identify a patient, they report it as a “Medical error” with high priority.
Their comments are a contribution to INCIC to improve the course; INCIC decides what gets changed. INCIC may remove reviewer access at any time.
Personal data
What data we keep about students, people on the interest list and reviewers, why, for how long and how to exercise your rights is in the privacy policy. From “My account” you can download your data or delete your account.
Changes
We may update these conditions. The date below shows the current version.
